What Are Facial Aesthetics?

Written by Luke Whitaker

We have now started offering facial aesthetics from our private dental practice in Exeter, with the addition of our new dentist Ciara, we are able to offer even more dental appointments as well as an additional service of facial aesthetics. But what are facial aesthetics? Lets us explain.

Facial Aesthetics

Facial aesthetics is a widely used term to describe the use of clinically safe injectables for non-surgical facial rejuvenation. They are a popular option due to the non-invasive nature of them, helping those who opt for them to reduce the signs of ageing, softening expression lines or to define, add volume and accentuate facial features.

For some the natural ageing process that we all experience brings about unwanted lines and wrinkles, this is primarily due to the fact that as we age we stop producing collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid; all of which are responsible for the skin’s plumpness, firmness and moisture. What many people also don’t realise is that we also lose fat density in our face as well as minerals within the facial bones, this decrease in both elements results in less structural support for the skin. It is these factors which facial aesthetics looks to temporarily reverse.
