We are delighted to welcome Ben Buffham, the newest addition to the Exeter Advanced Dentistry team.
Ben is a Specialist Orthodontist and will be joining the practice on 14th April. He has a wide range of experience in both adult and children’s orthodontics and has run a successful private practice in Reading for many years. Since 2001, Ben has limited his practice solely to orthodontics and has been recognised by the General Dental Council as a registered specialist since 2003.
Ben has found that orthodontics can be life-changing and has watched numerous patients gain confidence with their new smiles. If any of your friends or family are considering orthodontic treatment and may be interested in Ben’s services, please ask them to give us a call on or email. Ben will be delighted to work with them to develop the right treatment options for their needs.
What type of orthodontic work do you offer?
At Exeter Advanced Dentistry, we offer a complete range of orthodontic services, including:
Clear fixed braces – A modern alternative to traditional metal braces, clear fixed braces use translucent brackets that bond to the front of the teeth and connect with a wire. They blend with the natural tooth colour to give a discreet, ‘barely there’ appearance. Fixed braces are highly effective at treating all types of tooth misalignment, including the most complex crowding issues.
Lingual braces – Lingual braces are a popular choice for adult patients because they are fitted behind the teeth, which means there are no visible wires or brackets. Many patients complete their treatment without their friends or family being aware of their braces, enabling them to smile with confidence throughout the treatment period.
Invisalign – Invisalign straightens the teeth using a series of removable ‘aligners’ – clear, custom-made trays that are worn 22 hours a day. The trays can be removed for eating or for special occasions, giving patients more flexibility than fixed braces. Brushing teeth is easier with removable braces, and there are no restrictions on what patients can eat or drink during their treatment.
Rapid orthodontic treatments – Orthodontic treatment often takes between 18 and 24 months, depending on the severity of the crowding issue. When there are only minor crowding issues it is sometimes possible to provide a shorter course of treatment to realign teeth, either with fixed braces or invisible/lingual braces. Arrange a consultation with our Specialist Orthodontist, Ben, to find out which option is best for you.
